Student Support
1. Library
The primary mission of the library is
to support the study programs and provide students with study
materials. The collection covers the main disciplines of business and
economics and is comprises of more than 22 000 books. The library
subscribes to over 100 titles of major national and international
economics and business journals and newspapers and to a number of
national and international online databases. The library functions are
fully automated, and an online catalogue can be used to locate books,
Bachelor and Master theses. Registration is required in order to borrow
books and other publications. There are two reading halls, computers,
and copying and printing facilities available for the readers. See the library link for more information.
2. Copy Centre
A
copy centre is available for students in the gallery on the ground
floor. The copy center offers copying, scanning, and binding services for a
charge.
3. Internet and IT support
There are
three fully equipped computer rooms at SSE Riga with 40 workstations
and with a laser printer facility. All students receive a username, password, and an e-mail account.
Communication via e-mail is extensively used to connect students,
administration and the faculty. Remote access to e-mail accounts is
also available. Students are provided with free internet access, MS
Windows software, the SPSS statistical program and access to the
REUTERS database. Cable or wireless Internet connections are also
available for laptop users in the main areas of the school’s
facilities. Academic support is provided through the school's e-learning platform, and all students have access to this resource.
4. Cafeteria
The cafeteria provides students with
hot meals, cold dishes, salads, soft drinks and snacks. It is located
on the ground floor. The average meal costs EUR 3-4. The cafeteria is
open Monday through Thursday from 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays - from
8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. A soft drink dispenser and a coffee machine can be
found in the cafeteria.
