Breaking Boundaries: Partnership for Change
The line between for-profit and social engagements becomes more and more blurred. On the one hand, traditional businesses are expected to become increasingly responsible for wider societal and environmental impact of their operations. Simultaneously, a whole new type of businesses has emerged to recognize social problems and solve them in entrepreneurial manner (e.g., social entrepreneurs). Thinking outside the box, breaking boundaries between business, third sector and government and innovatively leveraging resources and competencies from various sectors is a must to address some of the most pressing problems humanity is facing today, such as, public health, climate change, poverty, etc.
The lecture will take place on Tuesday, June 2, at 16:00, in the George Soros Auditorium of the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, Strelnieku iela 4a.
The lecture will be followed by a wine reception sponsored by the Soros Foundation - Latvia www.sfl.lv.
