Executive Education: Management of Creativity and Innovation Module
In order to deal with today’s challenges it is not about being better at what we used to do, it’s all about doing it differently. Innovation is the key to getting over the gloom of recession and to striking back even more powerful.
Innovation leads to competitive advantage in the marketplace. However, not all the best specialists work in one company. By combining the know-how and creative potential available to other market players and product consumers, companies can develop better products, share the costs of innovation, and gain faster access to the market.
Throughout the three workshops of the Management of Creativity and Innovation Module participants will gain understanding of:
o the most efficient product, process and service development strategies;
o examine open innovation approach with the focus on user-driven developments;
o prepare for the shift towards new culture of generating successful business ideas while using the potential of new technology.
The module consists of three workshops on:
Strategy of Innovation (March 2) by Zane Smilga, M.Sc. B.A. Innovations Management from Rotterdam School of Management
Organizing, Managing and Governing Open Innovation Networks (March 4 - date changed on January 29 ) by Petra Turkama, Research Director, and Patrizia Hongisto, Senior Research Fellow, Center for Knowledge and Innovation Research (CKIR), Helsinki School of Economics
Creativity and Innovation 2.0 (March 16) by Peter McGrory, Professor of Design Management and Leadership, University of Art and Design Helsinki TaiK
The tools provided in the module of three workshops can prove especially valuable for companies dealing with product innovation – IT & telecom, printing & publishing industry, pharmaceutics, design goods, food, cosmetics, etc., regional and local technology transfer centres, business incubators and business parks, as well as for business development consultants.
The Management of Creativity and Innovation Module is organized in the framework of Nordplus Creative Industries Curriculum Development Project by SSE Riga, Baltic Film and Media School in Tallinn, University of Art and Design in Helsinki.
